“Wisdom Guangdong” to be basically built up in 2020

According to the Nanfang Daily News on April 17, Governor Zhu Xiaodan of Guangdong Province chaired an executive meeting of the provincial government evaluating the three plans: “Guangdong Information Development Plan (2013-2020)“, the “Guangdong Provincial Government Regulations Enactment Plan in 2013” and the “Guangdong Express Delivery Market Management Approach”.

“In order to accelerate the construction of industrial system of modern information technology to raise the overall level of development of information technology in our province, the meeting considered and approved the “Guangdong Information Development Plan (2013-2020)“, the meeting stressed the need to seize the opportunity of world’s third industrial revolution, to grasp strategic high ground of the future information technology development and accelerate the improvement of the information infrastructure:

-Focuse on building of the independent information technology innovation system;

-Speed up the development of the Internet technologies, cloud computing, wireless broadband communications and other new technologies;

-Promote the depth of integration of information technology and industrialization to stimulate the simultaneous development of information technology, industrialization, urbanization, agricultural modernization.”

The province targets to build the province into an international information network hub, International Electronic Commerce Center, the world’s high-end model of electronic information industry base. And it is expected that in 2015, the province’s information technology will catch up with the level of moderately developed countries, the level of information of the Pearl River Delta region will catch up with the advanced nations in the world. In 2020, the province’s information technology is targeting to catch up with the advanced level in the world marking a basic completion of the  “Wisdom Guangdong(智慧广东)”.
