It is recently exposed that Director Liu Zhiai of Liuhuang Village, Chashan Town, Dongguan, Guangdong Province, signed a lease contract with overseas a Singaporean Chinese to lend a piece of land (3,500 square meters) for a term of 30 years, the monthly rent will be 416 yuan, equivalent to 0.119 yuan per month / m, in additional as agreed in the contract the rent rate will be unchanged for 30 years.
This move caused dissatisfaction of some villagers. Reporters recently visited the village and learned that this lease contract had not been discussed with the village committee, the views of representatives of villagers were also not collected and the public had not been informed. The village director in an interview with reporters confirmed that “the due process was not followed” and explained that the cheap rental was charged to thank the contribution made by the oversea Chinese.
Currently, the Chashan Town discipline inspection department has been involved in the investigation after receiving the report.
