The views over the 1 million government donation to Sichuan Earthquake were differentiated

Some HK minorites resisted the 1 million government donation to Sichuan Earthquake
April 24, the Hong Kong SAR Legislative Council Finance Committee, the Chief Executive Leung Chun-ying proposed to allocate HK $ 100 million, into the Disaster Relief Fund to the Sichuan Provincial Government. But after two hours of debate, the special meeting because of the different views among the members did not come up with any results. The matter caused great repercussions in Hong Kong. SAR Government Chief Secretary for Administration, Mrs Carrie Lam, on April 28, expressed the hope that the Legislative Council to pass the proposal to contribute to the Disaster Relief Fund granted to aid Ya’an Earthquake, Sichuan earthquake to help with the affected people.

Legislative Council member from the Democratic Alliance, Tam Yiu-chung said that even if there was individual event that had not been doon well, regulation and contribution are two things, both should be done, and he hoped that the public will not therefore be deterred.
