The average vacancy rate of China’s logistics zones is 60%

As of July 2011, there were a total of 4,218 logistic zones built national wide in China, equivalent to an average of 12.6 logistic zones per prefecture-level city.

According to a joint research done by the National Development and Reform Commission and the China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing, many enterprises purchased land for logistics zone development purpose under preferential policies but never developed the project. Some lands were later sold after appreciation and some have been used for other commercial purposes. At the same time, China’s logistics zones average vacancy rate was about 60% based on the research findings.
