South Korean female president Park Geun-hye arrived in Beijing, will address in Qinghua University

Chinese President Xi Jinping on the 27th of June held talks with South Korean President Park Geun-hye at Beijing’s Great Hall.

At the beginning of the talks, Xi Jinping on behalf of the Chinese government and people warmly welcomed Park Geun-hye’s state visit to China. He said that the president is an old friend of the Chinese people who has visited China for many times, he also hoped that the a good impression can be left to her in this trip.

Park Geun-hye said that “I have visited China for many times. Korea has many similarities in the history and culture with China, the diplomatic relation between China and South Korea has gone through 20 years’ rapid development. I hope this visit can act as an opportunity to push forward the development of South Korea-China relations, and peace and stability in Northeast Asia, with more positive results.” Park Geun-hye urged to promote bilateral cooperation in economic, security and strategic cooperation and strengthen cultural ties between the two countries. She proposed to set up a cultural exchange committee between the two countries to promote exchanges and cooperation in youth, local affairs and academy.
