Pure Brightness / Tomb Sweeping Day / Qingming Festival (清明节)

 

Tomb Sweeping Day or Qingming Festival is a traditional festival in China, it is an occasion for the whole family to leave the house and to sweep the cemeteries of their ancestors and deceased families.
In accordance with the customs and old traditions, people will bring food, wine, fruit, paper money and other items to the cemeteries, offer food in front of the tomb and burn the paper money. Weed will be removed and other site cleaning jobs will be done before some new soil and new brands of tree are put on top of the front top of the tomb. Closed families will whisper some words in memory of their deceased relatives and then bow to the death and leave.
Until today, the Tomb Sweeping Day or Qingming Festival is still an important festival for people to worship their ancestors. And in recent years, the Chinese government has granted three-day public holidays to encourage to keep this traditional festival as a social custom
