Premier Li Keqiang: China will import goods totaled $ 10 trillion

As the world’s second largest economy, China’s economic development has brought opportunities to the world. Days ago Premier Li Keqiang published a signed article in the “New Zurich Newspaper” saying that in the next five years, China will import goods totaled $ 10 trillion, and foreign investment will reach 500 billion U.S. dollars. He said that China’s economic development prospects are very bright, will bring more opportunities to countries including Switzerland.

A lot of growth potential has not yet released

Premier Li Keqiang said: “On China’s development opportunities, for instance China’s 2012 GDP was 3.2 times compared to the GDP of 2000 based on the comparable pricing, the growth was more than double; in order to achieve another double of GDP in 2020 an average annual growth of about 7% is needed.”

Recently, there have been international remarks about “bearish China” (看空中国), in fact, these people underestimate China’s economic growth potential.

Deputy Director of China International Economic and Exchange Center, Zheng Xinli, pointed out that there are a lot of potential for economic growth which has not been released, the first is the potential domestic demand; on the other hand is the huge demand in the process of urbanization. Li Keqiang said that China is actively and steadily promoting urbanization, and hundreds of millions of farmers’ entering into urban areas will release greater market demand.
