The 12th Shangri-La Dialogue ended in Singapore yesterday, the Asia-Pacific regional security cooperation and defense became the focus of representatives of the participating countries and regions.

PLA Deputy Chief of General Staff Qi Jianguo issued a speech and answered questions. While asked about whether the Diaoyu Islands issue will be left to future generations, Qi Jianguo acknowledged. He said that no doubt that China will adhere to the principle of “passing the issues to posterity”. He said “20 years ago, Comrade Deng Xiaoping proposed to put aside disputes. Now some disputes in the East China Sea and South China Sea are unable to be completely solved very soon, the relevant parties shall have enough of strategic patience.”
