Overnight rate hit a new half year high in Shanghai

Today, Shanghai Interbank Offered Rate (Shibor) continues to rise significantly. Following yesterday’s increase of 135.9 basis points, the overnight offered rate today rose by 231.2 basis points to 8.294 percent, a record high of the past six months. Overnight Offered Rate soared by a total of 367.1 basis points, or 79.4% within just two days.
