Fonterra Trading (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. (formerly known as Fonterra China Company Limited) is responsible for marketing and promotion of the Fonterra dairy products in China, Hong Kong, Macau, Korea and Mongolia with headquartered in Shanghai, and offices in Beijing and Guangzhou. With comprehensive coverage of the China market, the company is also responsible for the provision of technical support as well as other projects such as the co-development of yogurt and cheeses products.
Fonterra Dairy (Guangzhou) Co., Ltd., has its nationwide product distribution channels covering 30 cities by hiring more than 160 employees.
In 2007, the Tangshan Fonterra Farm was successfully built as a demonstration of Fonterra standard farm in China, and it proved that the New Zealand standard milk can be produced locally in China. In 2010, Fonterra announced a new investment in Yutian County Ranch which was put into production in November 2011. In July 2011, Fonterra announced an agreement signed with Yutian County government to create the second farm in Yutian County.
Fonterra Dairy’s client list in the China market includes Mengniu, Yili and Abbott and other international brands of milk powder, Fonterra provides raw materials to them.
