Lenovo intends to form a joint venture company to engage in smartphones

2011, Lenovo acquired NEC’s PC business

On June 4, computer giant Lenovo Group announced that it is working on the establishment of a joint venture company to engage in the smartphone business but it did not disclose more details. Many media reports believed that the partner will be Japan NEC.

Lenovo smartphone business has become the focus at the moment. In April, there was news that Lenovo acquire NEC’s smart phone business. NEC is now caught in financial difficulties.

2011, Lenovo acquired NEC’s PC business, after that Lenovo computer has become Japan’s largest personal computer brand.
