According to KCNA report on 22 May, the Korean People’s Army General Political Bureau Choe Ryong-hae as the special envoy of the first chairman of the National Defense Commission Kim Jong-un, flew to China from Pyongyang to visit China. KCNA did not specifically reported Choe Ryong-hae’s visit such as and intention and itinerary.

Yonhap News said, this is the first time Kim Jong-un’s send a special envoy to China since his ruling.

Last August, the WPK Central Committee Political Bureau member, the Chief Minister, vice chairman of the National Defense Commission, Jang Song Thaek led a delegation to visit China.

Yonhap quoted analysts as saying that with Choe Ryong-hae’s visit to China, the Korean Peninsula situation is likely to change.
