Incidence of infant overweight in China topped the world: 10%

Head of National Women’s Health Division of the Health and Family Planning Commission, Li Song yesterday addressed the opening ceremony of the first national “Women School” training project held in Beijing. She said that due to erroneous concepts of motherhood, maternal overweight is a serious problem in China resulting in extremely high incidence of infant overweight being up to 10%, average cesarean section rate in China is also the highest (46%) in the world.
