Giant Interactive (NYSE: GA) announced today the unaudited second quarter financial results (till June 30th) in the fiscal year of 2013. The report shows that the Giant Network’s second quarter net revenues reached 588.1 million yuan (about 95.8 million U.S. dollars), an increase of 2.7% compared to the previous quarter, an increase of 11.3% over the same period last year; net profit attributable to shareholders amounted RMB 367.6 million yuan (about 59.9 million U.S. dollars), up 12.7 percent compared to the previous quarter, an increase of 19.6% over the same period last year.
In the 2nd quarter, the Giant Network has 2,328,000 active pay accounts of online gaming, an increase of 3.1% compared to the previous quarter, an increase of 5.0% over same period last year; online game average revenue per user was 244 yuan, sequential growth of 2.5 %, an increase of 4.8% over last year; average number of concurrent users was 0.702 million, an increase of 1.8% compared to the previous quarter, an increase of 2.5% over last year; the highest number of concurrent users 2.319 million, an increase of 1.6% compared with the previous quarter, an increase of 0.5% over last year. The Giant Network management expect the third-quarter revenue to be “flat or has a slightly growth” compared with the second quarter, analysts on average expect the revenue to be 100.64 million U.S. dollars.
