An enlightening ceremony for 7-year old children was held yesterday in Pan’an County, Jinhua, Zhejiang Province. According to the ancient educational ritual, an elder teacher will mark the forehead of the students with red ink and offer them red eggs which represent intelligence.

In the recent year, more Chinese ancient rituals and customs are promoted as more and more people consider the traditions as important. Young generations obviously bear heavy duties in the revival of the Chinese culture as they are more accessible to new things (unfortunately many traditions are now new to most adults).
