City Air Quality in Q1 2013: Tangshan at the bottom

Ministry of Environmental Protection released the first quarter “74 cities air quality report”. The number of days with bad air quality accounted for 55.6% and in almost half of the total days the value of the widely concerned PM2.5 was exceeding the standard. The top 10 air polluted cities are Tangshan, Shijiazhuang, Xi’an, Chengdu, Xingtai, Baoding, Xining, Handan, Langfang and Taiyuan. Beijing was ranked 17 while the best air quality was found in Haikou, South China’s Hainan Province.
