According to the Beijing Times, on April 15, 2013 Forbes Chinese version released the “2013 Chinese rich list”, “Superman” Li Ka-shing for 15 consecutive years has been ranked the richest Chinese man. The number of rich men from the Mainland Chinese has accounted for 50%, becomes the source of main growth.
The list shows the Chinese billionaire team this year has been widen again.
Even after a sluggish economy in the past year, the number of the richest Chinese in 2013 with a net asset of more than $ 1 billion has increased by 47 to a total of 245 people, the total net assets increased by 162.71 to a total of 718.46 billion U.S. dollars in 2013, the growth rate were 24% and 29 % respectively. The wealth growth is slightly faster than the growth in the number of rich men, suggesting that wealth has been concentrated in the wealthier people with a faster trend.
On the list, “Superman” Li Ka-shing is still on top of the richest Chinese, he is at the top for the past 15 years since 1999 when he surpassed Lee Shau Kee.
Though the mainland tycoons have been able to occupy half of the list in term of numbers, but for the first ten richest, only Zong Qinghou is in the top ten and the position is only 9th.
