Why Chinese government always insists on a GDP growth rate of 8%? One of the main reasons is that at present China has an annual 9 million university fresh graduates, 1 percentage point GDP growth is believed to offer new jobs for 1 million people, with 8 percentage points, it is believed that employment rate could be more than 90% among the new university graduates. In China, with the implementation of the one-child policy for over 2 decades, many family now have only one chid, if a large number of university graduates can not enter into employment, serious social problems could happen. Therefore, China stresses the need to achieve a GDP growth rate of about 8% is based on the perspective of maintaining the social stability.
