China’s response to the U.S. network monitoring against China: double standards will not be unhelpful to the problem solving

On a routine press conference held by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, a reporter asked: “According to media reports, the United States has been implementing network monitoring against China. What is China’s comment?”

In this regard, spokeswoman Hua Chunying responded by saying that “China is a staunch defender of network security. Chinese government has always attached great importance to network security issues, opposes any form of hackers and cyber attacks.”

Hua Chunying pointed out that “the two sides have agreed to establish a network workgroup under the framework of the strategic security dialogue. We hope that both sides can be calm and objective in looking at the issues through dialogue and communication, enhance understanding of trust, strengthen cooperation and work together to build peace, security, openness, cooperation in cyberspace.
