On the 30th, during the Ministry of National Defense of China press conference a reporter asked about the situation of the Thomas Shoal (Filipino: Ayungin, Vietnamese: Bãi Cỏ Mây, Chinese: Renai Shoal, 仁爱暗沙,仁爱礁) regarding the Chinese naval vessels’ patrolling in the near water and etc. Defense Ministry spokesman Geng Yansheng said China owns the indisputable sovereignty of Nansha Islands and adjacent waters. Chinese naval’s patrols in the waters under the jurisdiction is entirely justified.

For the Philippine defense department leader’ remark as to “fight for the defense of the territory to the last man”, Geng Yansheng said: “Philippine should defend their own territory, rather than territory of others.”
