China and Mexico announced a comprehensive strategic partnership

Chinese President Xi Jinping on the 4th of June held talks with Mexican President Peña. Heads of the two countries announced to upgrade the China-Mexico current partnership to a comprehensive strategic partnership.

Mexican side expressed its firm adherence to the one China principle, reiterated the Mexican government position over the Taiwan and Tibet as being inalienable part of China, Tibetan affairs are China’s internal affairs. The Chinese side expressed its appreciation and gratitude.

Joint statement also noted that as agreed in Peña president’s April visit to China, Mexican Pemex agrees to export oil to China. And the two side cooperation in various fields will also be enhanced further.
