A woman set herself in fire due to dissatisfaction with relocation compensation in Xiangtan, Hunan Province

On 22 May, in fear that the self-reserved hill (自留山) may be damaged by a project being proceeded nearby, while her husband was negotiating with the project team, a 47-year-old woman came to the site and set herself in fire causing 85% surface burnt.

The reporter learned that incident occurred because of the long-term unsuccessful negotiations with local government regarding land requisition compensation.
