Half (44.5%) of the residents tend to “save more”

The People’s Bank of China conducted a questionnaire survey of 20,000 urban depositors from 50 cities across the country in the first quarter of 2013. The survey shows that nearly half (44.5%) of the residents tend to “save more”, a decrease of 2.6 percentage points from the previous quarter; residents who tend consume more accounted for 17.9%, down 1.5 percentage points from the previous quarter; those tend to invest more accounted for 37.6% with an increase of 4.1 percentage points from the previous quarter.

 
The top 3 ways of investment in China are as follows: funds and financial  products, real estate investment and the purchase of bonds and the percentage of the residents choosing these three classes are 25.9%, 19.9% ​​and 14.6%respectively.
